At our outdoor courses "in the rough" through prehistoric casting techniques the students learn within two to three days how to make beeswax models, manufacture moulds, to built up a primitive furnace, to do the very casting and how to cold-work the raw castings. It gives the student – most of them study history or archaeology – a better and new understanding of the more than often fragmented original material that are found in digs or on recognizance. Also the student is given an idea about how much skill, labour and materials, that was invested in making just a small Bronze pendant.
